The HOBART Mobile Handwash System supports your hygiene safety concept onboard.
Make no compromises when it comes to hygiene!
Considering the key times for handwashing like for preparing food, before eating or after touching surfaces that may be frequently touched by other people, it appears that the current availability and capacity of handwash opportunities onboard cruise ships have become not sufficient to follow the recommendations when to wash the hands. But HOBART is providing a solution for the less available handwash opportunities for e.g. before boarding or re-entering the vessel after shore excursions. As the system is moveable, it can be positioned outside or inside the ship at locations where handwashing is not supported today (e.g. in front of restaurants, theater, casinos, shops, etc.).
The HOBART Mobile Handwash System comes with a supply station which is connected with the ship supplies (freshwater, greywater and electricity) and can operate fully independent from the port even located outside of the ship. The supply station in various configurations can serve between one and twenty handwash stations which are interconnectable in series and do not need an electrical connection. Depending on the amount of people ready to wash their hands the capacity can be adjusted flexible. Therefore, the system can be used for any vessel size from “extra small” to “super mega” and you can start small and grow bigger.
The units are engineered in a reliable heavy-duty marine design and are equipped with two big casters and handles to provide easy handling by one person with a tilt and go function. Through quick and safe hose connections and the easy movability, fast set up and disassembly is guaranteed. Naturally the operation of the soap dispenser and water tap is sensor controlled and therefore touchless. Paper towel dispensers are integrated in the handwash station as well as a waste bin. Considering the limited space onboard cruise ships the equipment is designed to consume little storage space.
“Life is better with clean hands” is an official campaign waged by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) to promote handwashing as one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs. CDC recommends washing hands with soap and water whenever possible, because handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs like viruses, bacteria etc. and even chemicals.
Also other leading global health organizations, e.g. the WHO (World Health Organization), MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières – Doctors Without Borders) and the ECDC (European Center for Disease Control and Prevention), recommend washing hands often and suggest it especially during pandemics like COVID-19.
